About
Linopatum Studio was created in 2021 as a burst of long-suppressed creative energy—an urgent need to start everything from scratch. Linopatum is more about process, about becoming, rather than a set reality or a ready product.
In a rapidly growing AI-driven world, Linopatum stands for art made entirely by hand—every stage of the process drawn, carved, and printed manually. Nothing digital, everything crafted, everything man-made.
Printmaking in Armenia is not as widely practiced as traditional art forms; it remains mostly within small art communities that work in an academic style. Linopatum seeks to establish printmaking as a fully independent artistic medium and to democratize it for broader audiences.
Linography is the most “friendly” printmaking technique compared to many other, more complex methods that require extensive tools, materials, and apprenticeship. Through its simplicity and bold forms, linocut printing gives the themes it depicts a strong visual presence.
Linopatum uses this technique to enrich Armenia’s visual documentation with new imagery, reinterpret and record lesser-known cultural monuments, and convey the unique stories of Armenian art and culture. After all, linocut is an excellent way to create multiple handmade prints and share them widely.
